Funny Boston Terrier Videos

Hello everyone,

It’s been quite some time since I updated my blog… yes, I have been busy. So right now, I just got a bit of free time to entertain myself and write this blog post.

Just now I went over to YouTube thinking of searching for some boston terrier training videos to watch. But what I gotten from the results are really not what I wanted. Instead, they are funny boston terrier videos so as curious as usual, I went to click on one and I was watching attentively before I started laughing because the boston terrier was performing tricks and I know that my own boston won’t be able to do that…

Here’s the link to the video

Boston Terrier Jogging

When I went for my usual jog in the evening at a nearby park to de-stress, I met some of my old jogging friends. There is one particular elderly jogger who always bring his dog, a jack russell terrier, to jog with him.

To my utter disappointment as always, I could not beat him in jogging. Believe me, his speed is amazing. He jogs like he is in his peak days and he is already into his fifties. But one thing that always puzzled me is that his jack russell can still manage to keep up with his speed. Well, I should think it is the difference of having two legs to run and having four legs to run or he is just super fast.

Well, as I jogged past the usual track I saw a new jogger and he was holding onto a leash to a dog. Upon reaching closer and passing by, I saw that his dog is the boston terrier that we have always loved. He was just jogging beside his owner. I can see that he enjoys that run although to that boston terrier, I should think that the pace is slightly fast but manageable.

So it just dawned onto me that we should keep our pets healthy by making sure they have sufficient exercise too. We can also have another bonding session with our dogs. Do not just keep your dog in the house and feed him without much exercise. One day, you might find that your dog becomes heavier when he pounce onto you. That’s when you realize that exercise is what your dog lack in.

It can also be fun to exercise with your dog. You can even incorporate training into the exercise regime. Take a frisbee for example, you can play with the frisbee and command your dog to retrieve it. Adding some difficulty may be teaching and commanding your dog to jump up and catch it while it is about to come down.

It will definitely be fun for both you and your dog. Try it and you might even be ready to have a go at it the next day.

Well, that’s my thoughts on that. Anyone has any comments to add, feel free to add it.

Boston Terrier – Giving The Wrong Diet At Wrong Age

By Daniel West

Many boston terrier owners may think that giving just the normal food that an adult dog should get will be enough. But in actual fact, this may cause your dog not to be able to get sufficient nutrients needed to be healthy.

Yes, boston terrier require different diets at different ages. For instance, the puppy will need milk as the bulk of his food items while the adult may need an additional piece of meat to the boiled egg and milk. Therefore, the diet schedule changes according to the age factor.

Boston terrier puppies need larger amounts of protein, fat and carbohydrates than the regular adult dogs. Plus, they also require more frequent feedings in a day. The puppies are more active than adult dogs therefore the movement based diet requirements are more likely to apply for them.

On the contrary, elder dogs need a specialized diet. Their protein needs to be easily digestible and easily assimilated into their bodies. They also need plenty of water. However, feeding too much protein may eventually lead to an over burden of the renal structures and ultimately the kidneys may get damaged.

This is especially true if the immune system is already damaged. The elderly dogs also needs less food as compared to adult dogs because they move much less, thus spending only a limited amount of energy.

Female pregnant dogs should not be fed till full as it may cause discomforts to the animal. However, both the pregnant boston terrier and the nursing dog will need a special type of food items that have a balanced type of nutrition with proper supplementation of vitamins and minerals for their needs.

The nursing dog will need to be fed with enough calcium so that they will not be deficient in calcium. This will enable the bones of the puppies to be strong without any curving.

Therefore, these are the boston terrier tips on their right diets requirements. I will still highly suggest you do more reading or you can always engage an expert for help.

Boston Bull Terrier Dog – The American Gentleman Origins

By Ray Henson

The Boston Bull Terrier dog is one of the fewer breeds that was bred exclusively in the United States – in the Boston area, around 1870 to 1885.

They are bred down in size from pit-fighting dogs of the bull and terrier types. The older Boston Bull Terriers dogs weighed up to 44 pounds (20kg).

So it is quite hard to believe that our cute little Boston terriers were once tough pit-fighters. Actually, their weight classification were divided into lightweight, middleweight and heavyweight in the past.

The foremost originals of the Boston Bull Terrier dogs were a cross between the English Bulldog and the English White Terrier (now extinct). At around 1865, the coachmen employed by wealthy people in Boston started to interbred some of these dogs owned by their employers.

It happened that one of these interbred, between the English Bulldog and the English White Terrier, is the earliest Boston Bull Terrier dog named Hooper’s Judge. It weighed in at over 30 pounds (13.5kg), and was actually bred down in size through a smaller female and one of those male pups was again bred with an even smaller female. Then their offspring interbred with one of the French Bulldogs which resulted in the creation of the foundation for Boston Bull Terrier dogs.

By 1889, there are so many Boston Bull Terrier dogs around that they founded the American Bull Terrier Club. However, both the Bulldog and Bull Terrier fanciers reject that name plus it was not well received by AKC too. So finally the name is changed to today’s Boston Terrier and the AKC recognized the breed in 1893, which is an exceptionally short time after its founding.

Initially, colors and markings were insignificant but by the early 1900s, the breed’s unique markings had become the standard breed characteristic.

By 1929-1935, it was ranked as the most popular breed in America and their overall breed quality still maintained well. It was also first registered in Canada in 1888-89.

The huge popularity of Boston Terriers or the Boston Bull Terrier dogs is due to its good temperament, as it had already lost most of those undesirable qualities of ruthless desire for destruction. Now, it just prefers the company of humans, although there are still some instances whereby the males will still challenge other dogs if they felt that their territorial space is being invaded.
